About Us
Our History
With over 100 years of service, the Chula Vista Woman’s Club is woven into the fabric of our city. Established in 1913, we began as a group of pioneering women passionate about creating a better future for Chula Vista. Since then, we have played an integral role in supporting schools, libraries, and countless charitable endeavors, while also promoting civic engagement and cultural enrichment.
Today, we honor the legacy of those who came before us by continuing their work and embracing the opportunities of the future.
Our Vision for the Future
As we look ahead, we remain steadfast in our commitment to serving Chula Vista with compassion and dedication. While honoring our storied past, we continue to evolve and adapt to the changing needs of our community, ensuring our impact grows stronger with each passing year.
Our Clubhouse
Built in 1928, the Chula Vista Woman’s Club clubhouse is a cherished local landmark and a testament to civic leadership. Located on G Street and Garrett Avenue—on land generously donated by Thomas P. Howe—the building was designed by renowned architect Edgar V. Ullrich in the elegant Spanish-Colonial Revival style.
Funded through the sale of the original clubhouse and a community-backed loan, the new structure featured meeting halls, a stage, kitchen, and gathering spaces that supported decades of service, events, and education. Officially opened on October 24, 1928, it has since stood as a symbol of the Club’s enduring role in Chula Vista’s civic and cultural life.
